Top New Jersey Plastic Surgeon Profile
Parham A. Ganchi, PhD, MD
(from New Jersey Monthly Magazine – October 2006)
You might say Dr. Ganchi’s career choice was predestined. His father is a general surgeon, his mother a cosmetic dermatologist, and his sister a plastic surgeon.
Dr. Ganchi’s credentials are impressive. His higher education began at Princeton University with a degree in molecular biology. A graduate of the Harvard Medical School general surgery and plastic surgery programs, he obtained his MD and a PhD in molecular biology from Duke Medical School. “My background in molecular biology gives me a deeper understanding of the aging process, wellness and health, beyond surgery alone,” Dr. Ganchi explains. He is board-certified in both general surgery and plastic surgery. “Plastic surgery is the cheerful side of medicine. People choose to have cosmetic surgery. They’re doing something for themselves. Beyond the obvious physical improvement, there’s an impressive emotional gain. The enhanced self-confidence is clear in how they act, dress, talk, and interact with those around them. In fact, everyone they interact with reaps the benefits, especially friends and family. Many people don’t realize how profound the emotional effects of plastic surgery can be. Seeing this transformation on a daily basis is extremely gratifying for me.”
