Best Labiaplasty in New Jersey
If you are unhappy or uncomfortable with the shape and/or size of your labia minora, then labiaplasty is the perfect procedure for you. Most women have enlarged or asymmetric labia minora from birth. Others may have developed enlarged labia after pregnancy or as they age. The enlarged labia can make daily activities and exercise uncomfortable, interfere with or make you embarrassed during sexual intercourse, or create a bulge in tight clothing. Labiaplasty in New Jersey with Dr. Ganchi can reduce the labia minora so that they do not protrude and are more symmetric. The results are very satisfying to our patients.
Is labiaplasty right for me?
There are many reasons why women choose to have a labiaplasty, such as:
- Physical Discomfort During Sports, Exercise, or Everyday Activities
- Appearance and the Fit of Clothing
- Concerns and Problems Relating to Sexual Intercourse
- Self-Conscious about Vagina
- Urination with an Enlarged Labia
You are a candidate for labiaplasty surgery if you have:
- Protruding Labia Minora
- Asymmetrical Labia Minora
- Thickened Labia Minora
- Labia Minora That You Would Like Reshaped
The best candidates for a labiaplasty are healthy individuals with no medical conditions that could complicate incision healing. These include heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
Certain medications also lead to slower healing, like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antidepressants, and hormonal contraceptives. Be sure to consult with your doctor regarding whether it’s safe to take a break from these medications.
Other factors that can risk slower healing and excessive bleeding are alcohol consumption and smoking. Avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours before this vaginal rejuvenation procedure. Smoking is prohibited for four to six weeks before and after the procedure in order to achieve a smooth recovery.
Since a labiaplasty procedure is permanent, the choice to undergo this surgery should be your own decision.
The body’s physical appearance varies from person to person, and results will be different for everyone. It is important to have realistic expectations before undergoing this procedure. Read about 5 Reasons Why Women Have Labiaplasty Surgery.

How to prepare for a Labiaplasty
Before your labiaplasty appointment in New Jersey, schedule your time off from work and accomplish any strenuous household chores. This will help you get enough rest and avoid complications during recovery.
Since it will take some time for the anesthesia to wear off, you will need to have a friend or family member drive you home. Arrange for this in advance.
Refrain from taking vitamin C, herbal supplements, and weight-loss supplements four weeks prior to your labiaplasty appointment.
Avoid eating or drinking for eight to twelve hours before the surgery to prevent vomiting while under anesthesia.
How is surgery performed? Are there any risks?
During our initial consultation in New Jersey, Dr. Ganchi will take a complete medical history and examine the areas of concern. He will evaluate the labia to assess the degree and type of enlargement and check for asymmetry. Dr. Ganchi and his friendly staff will confer with you to determine what changes you would like. Then, we will design the labiaplasty procedure that will give you the result that you are looking for.
The labiaplasty procedure is performed in slightly different ways depending on the exact anatomy of the labia. In all cases, the procedure is very low risk with a quick recovery. The stitches will dissolve and do not need to be removed.
I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Each staff member I interacted with was better than the last. Friendly, relatable, comforting, detail oriented. Dr Ganchi is a master of his craft, meticulous and empathetic. The office is prestige and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Ganchi Plastic Surgery. Thank you for all your help, love and support!
Will it cost less if I have only one labia that is enlarged?
While many women have asymmetric labia minora, in order to get the best symmetry, it is usually a good idea to perform labiaplasty on both sides. This allows both sides to go through the same healing process and gives them a more symmetric appearance. Obviously, less tissue would be removed from the smaller side. The small difference in cost is generally not worth compromising the symmetry of the final result of labiaplasty.
What is recovery like after labiaplasty?
Recovery after labiaplasty is relatively mild. The first three days are spent relaxing. Cold compresses or ice packs will help keep the swelling to a minimum. You will feel fine. You will have some bruising and swelling that will resolve over the next week or two. Stitches will dissolve and do not need to be removed.
When can I return to work?
While healing time varies, most return to work 3 – 6 days after labiaplasty. We advise patients to avoid any pressure on the labia for six weeks. This would include wearing tight clothes such as thongs or using tampons or having sexual intercourse. Excessive movement such as jogging can also slow the healing process and should be avoided. We will closely follow your progress to ensure that you are ready to resume normal activities.
