What Are The Gynecomastia Surgery Details? What Are The Risks?
Plastic surgeon Dr. Ganchi performs gynecomastia surgery under general or local anesthesia. During your surgery, excess fat, skin, and/or glandular tissue is removed. Liposuction will also be used if necessary to give you the most masculine chest contours. Additionally, the size of the areolae may be reduced as needed. All male breast reductions are performed at Ganchi Plastic Surgery Center. Our plastic surgery practice is located in Wayne, New Jersey, where we welcome local and out-of-town guests for consultations.
Note: Only a licensed professional with the knowledge and skill required to achieve optimum results should perform male breast surgery. What Happens During Recovery?
It will take a couple of months to see the full effects of your gynecomastia surgery, since swelling during the healing process can cause the breasts to temporarily look slightly larger. You will also need to wear a support garment for at least a few weeks to help your chest adhere to its new shape and size.
Patients are encouraged to go on short walks during this period to help with healing, but they should avoid the gym and other intense physical work for the first month of recovery.
What Are The Results of This Surgery?
Gynecomastia surgery is a safe and effective procedure that can give you a firmer, flatter, more contoured chest while enhancing your confidence. You will no longer be burdened by the discomfort or embarrassment of “man boobs” or enlarged breasts. Your body contours will be more balanced and masculine.

Gynecomastia Video Transcription
Dr. Ganchi provides the best Gynecomastia correction surgery in New Jersey. In this video he discusses the causes of Gynecomastia and how the best Gynecomastia correction is performed.
Gynecomastia is basically over development or abnormal development of the chest and a man. This can usually start in puberty when the boys are going through their hormonal changes. By sort of by a mistake the body makes a breast gland and that breast clearing creates fullness in their chest which of course is embarrassing to them. This condition is something you can’t lose on your own, you can’t work it out, you can’t lose weight and make it go away. It’s a gland which has some fat around it. The other way that some people get Gynecomastia is guys who use steroids to body build, to play football, all those different reasons.
The treatment is really straightforward. you go in take out the gland tissue directly and then liposuction the fat, make it nice and smooth and blend it. Of course we do all this without leaving any visible scars. That’s something that we do all the time. It’s very straightforward and works well if it’s done well. It’s about a one-hour, maybe one hour and 50 minutes surgery. the scars literally disappear. They’re among the happiest patients we have because it really just kind of opens them up. they can now go into all those things they didn’t want to do before because they don’t have to worry anymore.
A lot of patients come to us who have already been somewhere else. They’ve had their gynecomastia treated but they’re not happy for some reason or another. We try to then go in and see what’s going on and then try to fix that so that it now looks the way they want.
There are two main reasons that they are unhappy. Both of them have to do with not doing a complete job. Some surgeons will go in and say “okay there’s some fat here so we’re gonna do some liposuction”. Liposuction is a great technique for removing fat, but only fat. It doesn’t remove the gland tissue that these guys have. As a result their chest will get smaller, but they’ll still have a lump there from the gland tissue that was left behind. For those patients we have to go in and complete that. we huse an incision that’s very hidden and remove that gland tissue. Once you do that they’re suddenly fixed.
The other group, which I just got an email about yesterday, was a guy who went and had the gland removed. The guy who did his surgery removed the gland, but didn’t do the liposuction. Now it looks like someone took a bite out of a fruit. It’s like a dent there. There’s a little hole there. We just have an indentation with a fullness around it that looks even worse because now there’s an irregularity in his chest. So what we have to do is go in and liposuction what they didn’t do and then smooth everything out and check to make sure no gland is left behind. Because you never know if someone else did the full job with the gland or not, that’s the other type where they have an indentation. That used to be very common years ago when liposuction were less popular.
