Is Breast Augmentation Right for You?
Women can lose breast volume due to weight loss, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. Additionally, some women are born with smaller breasts and might not be happy with their current size. Many women have confidence issues due to their small breasts when wearing swimsuits or form-fitting outfits.
Some women who are born with asymmetrical breasts may want their breasts to look more similar in size. For all these concerns, breast augmentation is an ideal solution.
If you are looking to address shape asymmetries or sagging breasts, you may instead be interested in a breast procedure called a breast lift. Sometimes, these two procedures are combined in a surgery called augmentation mastopexy. This combination procedure provides comprehensive breast enhancement.
Breast Implant Options
Breast augmentation with implants offers excellent results. The best breast implants for you will depend on many factors, such as your beauty goals, your body type, and the existing shape of your breasts.
You can get subtler or more dramatic improvements based on your preference. To achieve these results, you can either choose larger or smaller breast implants, the volume of which is measured in cc.
In terms of implant type, patients can choose silicone implants or saline implants for the surgery. Silicone breast implants contain silicone gel, which feels very natural, and they come pre-filled. Saline breast implants contain saltwater, and they can be inserted empty and then filled during the surgery.
You can also choose your implant shape and profile based on your desired result. If you want very natural-looking breasts after the surgery, you can opt for teardrop implants with a lower profile. If you want fuller and rounder breasts, traditional round implants may be a better choice for you.
The Breast Augmentation Procedure
Breast enhancement is a safe procedure when performed by a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon surgeon. It typically takes an hour or two.
At the start, general anesthesia is administered to ensure a comfortable procedure. Next, incisions are created to allow placement of implants. These incisions be made in the armpit (transaxillary incision), in the breast crease (inframammary incision), or around the areola (periareolar incision). The best incision for you will be chosen during your consultation.
Next, Dr. Ganchi creates pockets in the tissues and then places the implants inside the pockets through the incisions. After the implants are positioned correctly, the incisions are closed with sutures.
Before & Afters
Breast Augmentation Recovery and Healing
The recovery process after breast augmentation requires a week or two of rest. You may be required to wear a supportive surgical bra without underwire to aid your recovery process. Bruising and swelling will be present, and Dr. Ganchi can prescribe medications to manage any pain. He can also recommend ointments to use on the incisions.
After five to ten days, you will be able to return to work. You will need to avoid physically taxing activities like sports and heavy exercise for several weeks. Once all swelling has ameliorated, you will be able to see your final results. To better understand your potential results, look over the breast augmentation before-and-after photos in our gallery.
How Much Does Breast Augmentation Cost?
Since breast augmentation is not a one-size-fits-all procedure, its total price varies from patient to patient. The cost of breast enlargement is based on anesthesia fees, implant cost, total procedure time, techniques utilized, and many other factors.
