How is nose reshaping performed?
Rhinoplasty (nose job or nose reshaping ) can be performed on any part of the nose to increase or reduce size, to modify the nostrils, tip or bridge size and shape, or alter the slope or angle of the nose. It can also help correct an injury, birth defect, or improve breathing.
Your rhinoplasty procedure will be planned and tailored to match your individual needs, so you can achieve the most natural appearance. Typically, the skin of the nose is cut and lifted away from the bone cartilage framework from beneath, then shaped and sculpted to obtain optimum results. The incisions are most often placed inside the nose and hidden from view. When the surgery is complete, a splint may be applied to help your nose maintain its new shape. Some bruising and swelling can be expected following surgery, but applying ice and taking a mild pain reliever can offer effective relief. Keeping your head elevated and relaxing in bed is recommended for the first 24 hours following surgery.
Before & Afters

Who is the best candidate for a nose job?
Rhinoplasty is a procedure in which the nasal bones or cartilage are reshaped into a more pleasing and graceful contour that will complement your other facial features. Most patients undergo rhinoplasty surgery to enhance their appearance and self-confidence by correcting a nose that is too large, out of proportion, crooked or injured.
Good candidates for nose reshaping surgery are people who are finished growing, in good health, and unhappy with the current size, shape or appearance of their nose. It’s also important to have realistic expectations of what rhinoplasty can do for you.

Nose Job Video Transcription
Dr. Ganchi provides the best Rhinoplasty in New Jersey. In this video he discusses how he addresses both cosmetic and functional concerns of a nose job.
Rhinoplasty is one of our most popular procedures and it’s one that has to be extremely customized. We know that literally any shape or size of nose can exist. You need to address it not only to make the nose look better, but to make it fit their face. This is a really important thing and you don’t want to just do the same thing on everybody where they all have the same nose. You want to look at their nose to make certain it looks nice, but also look at their whole face to make sure that this fits their face, their ethnicity, the rest of their jaw, the jaw structure and the features that makes them either a man or a woman.
There are different cosmetic complaints. Having a bump on the nose, that’s really common. Having the tip be either too thick, too long, or drooping down. Those often can be done together. Maybe the nose is too wide. Those are very common complaints. Sometimes there are ethnic issues, like maybe the nose is too wide or too flat. You have to look at that too and treat them a little differently than the ones that come in for the opposite thing.
Rhinoplasty patients come in for two main reasons. They don’t like the look of their nose, but also there could be something functional. Maybe they can’t breathe or maybe their septum is deviated. Those two things really go ahead in hand. You can’t operate on the nose and not care about their breathing. If their septum is bothering them we have to look at that – and so first of all you could have a deviated septum, but maybe that’s not really causing any problems. You don’t just operate just because it’s there. We try to make sure that the deviated septum is actually causing a breathing problem. A lot of people have had their septum operated on with no result because it wasn’t the cause of the problem. Just because it’s deviated doesn’t mean it has to be fixed, so we always make sure that the deviation is actually causing trouble. If this is at the same time as a rhinoplasty we can also address the septum.
Not only can the septum cause breathing trouble, but it can cause their nose to be crooked. We have to address the septum that way too. So it’s a combination of the aesthetics and making sure that it works great for you.
